Vineyards to Villages Benefit Concert

Through the Vineyards to Villages (V2V) initiative, the Sonoma County wine industry is "turning wine into water" by funding clean water infrastructure, sanitation facilities, and hygiene education for small, rural communities in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. An Evening with Chris Thile and Edgar Meyer

These two MacArthur Fellows will cross traditional boundaries in a diverse program of largely original music. The duo has collaborated on several critically acclaimed projects including the Grammy-winning Goat Rodeo Sessions (2011), a recording of original compositions (2008, Nonesuch Records) and, most recently, Chris Thile's 2013 solo recording, Bach: Sonatas and Partitas, Vol. 1, produced by Meyer. The duo’s next recording of new original material will be released in 2014 on Nonesuch Records.

Russian River Jazz and Blues Festival

Part of the appeal of this immensely popular annual gathering is the magical setting, at Johnson's Beach & Resort on the Russian River. It's just one block from Guerneville's Main Street, and towering redwoods keep the crowds cool against the banks of the water. Even cooler is the line-up of top performers, including Larry Graham & Graham Central Station, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Roy Rogers & The Delta Rhythm Kings, Boney James, and Gary Clark, Jr. The fun plays over two stages, and guests are invited to bring a blanket and low-back chairs.

Doors open at 10 a.m. daily and the music rocks until 6 p.m., rounded out with food vendors, wine tastings, dancing in the grass, and even canoes, kayaks and paddle boats for rent on the river.

The Glendi International Food Fair is Santa Rosa's premier ethnic food and dance event. 117th Annual Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival

Since 1897 the Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival has been celebrating the Sonoma Valley's bounty, community, and local culture. Sonoma Valley Muse 2014

Sonoma Valley Muse is Sonoma Community Center's main fundraiser and annual tradition. Each year SCC honors a Sonoma citizen whose works have helped shape Sonoma into the town it now is. Hike & Taste in the Vineyards at Kunde Winery

Join Sonoma Valley Docent Bill Myers on a fun, casual and up-close hike through the 1,850 acre volcanic and vertical Kunde Estate. This is a great opportunity to see sustainable winegrowing practices at work while taking in some of wine countrys most spectacular scenery. Bill's tours wind through the estates distinct eco-systems, each one uniquely contributing to the process of sustainable winegrowing. This moderately strenuous hike lasts approximately four hours. The hike will also conclude at the Tasting Room, where invigorated hikers can sample Kundes hand crafted estate-grown wines.
