Sonoma Valley Crush Recap

It’s that time of year in the Heart of Sonoma Valley, where all five senses are awakened and attuned to the beginning of a special season in Wine Country. You begin to feel the night air getting a bit cooler and see sights of trucks with white plastic bins laden with dark purple or golden colored grapes. You experience the familiar smell of fermenting grapes permeating the air, and hear the many sounds of busy harvest crews in the vineyards calling out the next round of instructions. A favorite of the five senses for this annual occurrence is the tasting the latest wine releases with family and friends. These familiar sensory adventures are what the local Sonoma Valley folks fondly regard as the beginning of the annual Harvest CRUSH.

This event has become a favorite annual tradition for many wine lovers from near and far, and our Sonoma Valley is brimming with the glorious buzz of harvest. The heart of the Sonoma Valley is filled with gleaming limos, white tents, stacked wine barrels and flowing wine being poured to eager wine connoisseurs. At this years CRUSH venue, 14 different wineries from the Heart of Sonoma Valley Winery Association celebrated, showcased and poured their favorite new wine releases and library wines, each wine told a unique story in every glass. Encountering a plethora of taste sensations, many wines were paired with delectable appetizers and marvelous chocolates infused with wine, flavorful gourmet oven pizza’s rounded out with savory cheeses from local artisans. Every year the wine harvest experience is enhanced by meeting new friends, seeing familiar smiling faces and hearing the time-honored sound of clinking glasses in a special toast.
