Santa Rosa International Film Festival

The Santa Rosa International Film Fest (SRIFF), a Wine Country Film Festival Event, is celebrating its 26th anniversary as Wine Country’s first, original, largest and longest running film festival! It will take place September 12th to 23rd, 2012. It screens films in more indoor and outdoor venues and wine caves than any other North American film festival! The festival has consistently brought the finest international cinema to the attending community and is a cultural resource for filmmakers, artists and the public. The Santa Rosa International Film Festival is rooted in the belief that film can broaden ones appreciation of arts, institute an understanding of social conscience and expand ones multi-cultural awareness.

The festival features a unique SRIFF experience, Films al Fresco! This event is held at Deerfield Ranch Winery in Kenwood. For the indoor viewer, movies start at 6:30 p.m. and for the outdoor attendees, films begin at 8 p.m. Chairs are provided and it does get cold!

The festival has a relaxed vibe and invites visitors of all film tastes. There are seven sections in which aspiring artists can submit films to: World Cinema, U.S. Cinema, Arts in Film, Music in Film, CineLatino, Cinema of Conscience (humanity and social issues), and EcoCinema. They also have: Special Sections of FOOD ON FILM and Paseo de España and they program Shorts, Documentaries, and Features. In addition, the 2011 SRIFF winner, “Touch” will return and be available for viewers!

The Festival Hospitality Lounge (FHL) is located in downtown Santa Rosa, the prime spot for relaxing, unwinding and discussing movies. Also featured in the FHL will be parties, panel discussions and Happy Hours, an art show featuring eight Sonoma County artists.

The Courtyard by Marriott is welcoming Santa Rosa International Film Festival guests as the host hotel for the event. You can get special group rates and packages; some that include passes to the events.  For more information on this hotel click here, and for information on other nearby hotels click here.
