Wine caves are something spectacular. But what is even more spectacular are natural rock wine caves, with no reinforcements, with natural dripping water to keep the caves cool and moist– perfect for storing and aging wine. The natural rock caves at Moon Mountain Vineyard in the hills of the Sonoma side of Mount Veeder are home to the Audelssa Estate Winery and Repris Winery. Their tasting room sits in the historic Charles J. Poppe building in Glen Ellen and serves fantastic wines. Next time you are at the tasting room, ask how you can visit the winery atop the mountains, overlooking all of Sonoma Valley and on a clear day, San Francisco!
